Muharram security measures in Pakistan: Mobile service suspended in cities

In observance of security measures during Muharram, mobile phone services have been announced to be suspended in various cities and towns on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

On the 9th of Muharram, mobile phone services are suspended in several cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, and others in Sindh province.

In Punjab, mobile phone services are partially suspended in cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, and Muzaffargarh.

In Balochistan, cities such as Quetta, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Osta Muhammad, and others are also experiencing mobile service suspension.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Peshawar, mobile services are partially suspended in areas where processions are taking place.

Additionally, under Section 144, motorcycle pillion riding is banned in Karachi and Hyderabad.Today, the 9th of Muharram, is being observed with great reverence across the country, with mourning processions being held in various cities. Strict security arrangements have been made for the occasion.
