(Pakistan Echo) Justice Shahid Jameel Khan recently resigned from the Lahore High Court, and his resignation has been sent to President Arif Alvi. Notably, he was the 11th senior-most judge and was due to retire in 2029, but decided to resign due to personal reasons. A copy of his resignation was sent to the President’s office.
Justice Shahid was serving as a judge of the Lahore High Court since 2014, this resignation is a significant development in the legal field.
In his resignation, Judge Shahid Jameel Khan also wrote a poem by Allama Iqbal.
Earlier, another High Court judge had resigned during the tenure of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa. After the recent resignations of Justice Syed Mazahir Ali Akbar and Justice Ijazul Ahsan last month, now Lahore High Court Judge Justice Shahid Jameel Khan has submitted his resignation.
