Former Senior Bureaucrat Roedad Khan, Aged 101, Passes Away in Islamabad

mardan – Former bureaucrat Roedad Khan, a respected figure in Pakistan’s civil service, died at the age of 101. Born on 28 September 1923 in Mardan, Khan began his illustrious career after joining the civil service in 1949.

His tenure spanned important roles in various administrations, including serving as Chief Secretary to both the Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments and holding positions such as Managing Director of Pakistan Television Corporation and Secretary to various ministries.

Hamid Mir wrote in his Twitter account۔۔۔“A historical picture of 2007. Former bureaucrat Roedad Khan sitting between Ahmad Fraz and Minhaj Barna in a protest against the rule of Gen Musharraf.I was banned on TV those days and these senior citizens came to support me at the protest. Roedad Khan passed away today at 101.”

PTI Leader Faisal javed Khan write ” میرے دوست اور بزرگ اور دھرنے کے “ینگ بوائے” روئیداد خان ہم میں نہیں رہے-ایک سو سالہ روئیداد خان کی خواہش تھی کی وہ عمران خان سے اڈیالہ جیل میں ملاقات کر سکیں! انکے لبوں پر بس ایک ہی بات تھی جو وہ بار بار کر رہے تھے “مجھے عمران سے ملنا ہے جی! مجھے عمران سے ملنا ہے جی! اللّٰہ تعالیٰ انکی مغفرت فرمائے! آمین”

The funeral prayers were offered in the capital after Zuhr prayers and he was laid to rest at the H-11 graveyard. Roedad Khan expressed his desire to meet imran khan in his last interview and said that keeping Imran Khan in Adiala Jail is like keeping Muhammad Ali Jan in Adiala Jail.
