Following a sharp drop in temperatures, the Sindh government on Friday announced changes to school timings across the province.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, Government and private schools across the province have been mandated to start their daily work from 8:30 am. the notification said, further adding that the new timings shall remain enforced till January 31, 2024.
The academic calendar of educational institutions of Sindh has been finalized, with government and private schools preparing for their academic year starting from 15th April 2024. Also, the colleges of the province are scheduled to start their academic sessions from August 1, 2024.
Apart from Sindh, Punjab is also in the grip of severe cold weather, due to which the provincial government has extended the winter vacation for public and private educational institutions till January 9.
On January 10, schools in Punjab are set to reopen, with strict regulations mandating the wearing of face masks on school premises.
