Islamabad – The Election Commission, under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, has announced a special plan. This was decided during the second crucial meeting of the Election Commission, which discussed the allocation of specific seats to PTI.
The Election Commission has resolved to implement the Supreme Court’s decision. Following the meeting, a statement from the Election Commission confirmed that the Commission will seek guidance from the Supreme Court if any issues arise in implementing any aspect of the decision.
The commission added that it has neither misinterpreted any decision nor validated PTI’s intra-party elections.
Despite PTI challenging the Commission’s decisions on various forums, the Commission’s decisions have been upheld. The 41 members of the National Assembly who were declared independent had not disclosed their affiliation with any party in their nomination papers. The Supreme Court heard the appeal by the Sunni Ittehad Council, and PTI was not a party to this case.
The Election Commission also condemned the criticism directed at the Chief Election Commissioner and members by a political party and dismissed demands for resignation as absurd.
