The Punjab government has declared a public holiday in Lahore on March 2nd, coinciding with the urs celebrations of Madhu Lal Hussain. The notification issued stated the holiday for the general public in Lahore District, marking the “Annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Madhu Lal Hussain” on March 2nd, 2024.
The annual festivities of Madhu Lal Hussain are set to commence over the weekend, with senior officials, including the Secretary Auqaf, scheduled to inaugurate the urs celebrations at the Sufi saint’s grave.
The Urs celebration is expected to witness the participation of members of the Religious Committee, religious scholars (ulema), spiritual leaders (Mushaikh), and a large number of devotees. The Auqaf Department has allocated Rs459,000 for the Urs grant, indicating the significance attached to the event.
In preparation for the occasion, local police and the department have collaborated to make comprehensive security arrangements, ensuring the safety and security of the visitors.
