Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that it will remain closed for public dealings on the 1st of Ramadan, 1445 AH, designated as a ‘Bank Holiday’ for Zakat deduction purposes.
As a result, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will be closed for public transactions on this date.

However, according to the official notification, all employees of these institutions will be required to report to work on the Bank Holiday, treating it as a regular working day, except for public dealings.
Pakistan is expected to observe the first day of Ramadan 2024 on March 12th.
